Generations Cafe is creating a space in Columbiana for people of all generations to gather together and enjoy each other’s company.

When I first realized how big the generation gap was it was shocking to me,” said owner Lisa Schwartz who runs Generations Cafe with her husband and children. “I made the intention that I want to do whatever I can to help close that gap. Making a space where no matter what your age, or where you’re coming from, you could come in and feel welcome. You could be greeted with a smiling face. You could see all age groups around you and feel like you fit in too,” Schwartz continued.

“Generations Cafe is the generations living on, I guess I would say. Our son started the café five years ago as Generations Coffeehouse and part of the reason we wanted to keep Generations alive in Columbiana was, number one, to meet the needs of the community in a small way but significant way, but also for me as a mom I just wanted to keep the legacy going of what our son started,” Schwartz said.

“The most rewarding times have been when I’ve talked to friends, family, customers that said, ‘hey we were at Generations today, met with a relative that we haven’t seen in a long time, or spent time with my grandpa there,’ those are the days that really make it rewarding,” owner Rob Schwartz said. “We want them to be able to come in here, enjoy the space, have quality products and choose to spend time in Columbiana.”

Generations Cafe is located in Downtown Columbiana at 31 South Main Street.
